Folkestone UK late 60's - mod meets surf.
No idea who this is, very few surfers in the UK back then. Homemade boards and wetsuits were commonplace.

We made em up from kits, gluing em together with Bostik. That one looks top o the range cause it's got fully taped seams. Must have took him hours! No matter how carefully you glued em, you still froze in the water. Oh and they had the flexibility of an ironing board - great for one move stand ups!

Beaver tail jacket with those big press studs on the front and a collar that sliced into your neck.
My first suit was a stiff as a board diving suit found in the boot of a wrecked car. Dad had wetsuit patterns that he scaled down to kid size for me. Real Frankenstein job with random bits of bright yellow tape everywhere from the previous tape up.
I was still making my own boots and gloves in the 80's.
I can laugh about it now.....
